Gold Ring and other Treasure Found With Fisher F4 Metal Detector
By Arno Kitching
Sunday morning I got up with the usual urge to go and hunt the nearby park for old coins.
I have been very successful in getting old pennies and even 3 pence and a shilling out of it.
So I bid my wife farewell and drove to the park. The recent rain we’ve had was a welcome relief as the ground was soft for digging and the pickaxe was not needed.
As I arrived at the park my decision change to that of fortune and I set the discrimination to miss iron only.
Very first hole a ring.
I have found a couple before but not with the signature of 27-29 on the Fisher. This gave me hope to find more.
2nd hole out came a bottle top.
The next signature came through solid 35-36 and out popped the 9ct gold ring. Stuck the pinpointer straight through, the buzzer sounding the hit.
Now the adrenaline was in the blood and I was on a roll. The next couple of holes brought up junk and then the worst hit me. Dead batteries and I brought no spare.
For me, the hunt was over but the riches still to be found are but two 9V batteries away.
I will be back.
